Beautiful Christchurch gets rocked by an Earthquake

A strong earthquake has caused widespread damage and power cuts throughout New Zealand’s second largest city, Christchurch. The quake has been estimated by the US Geological Survey to be 7.2, with a 5.7 following shortly after. It happened shortly after 4:30 local time.

Early reports show much of Christchurch and Canterbury have lost power, with the rail network shut down while it is inspected for damage.

The quake did not prompt any tsunami warnings as it was inland, and no one has been reported killed.

Back from the South Pacific Cruise

Kristy and I are back from our most recent cruise. This time we followed our footsteps from last year and boarded the Pacific Dawn on a journey that took us to Noumea, Lifuo and Port Vila. Wow. What an adventure. We went a little further this time on every island and had a ball. More photos and stories to follow.

Adobe Releases Photoshop Express for iPad

Today Adobe released Photoshop Express for iPad. This neat little app allows user to tweak their photos, then upload them to either Adobe’s online photo centre or Facebook. This app is actually a universal app (meaning it can be used on iPhone and iPad).

The features available include brightness, contrast, exposure, cropping, straightening, trimming and many more. So bust open iTunes and go nuts.

Telstra to Cut off Data Hogs

Today Telstra announced that it will be cutting off data hogs.

In a surprise move, Australia’s original telco has admitted that it will cut off customer’s mobile internet access if they overspend because they are refusing to pay up. The “app cap” would apply to all so-called smartphones on the Telstra network, barring users from the web until the following month’s billing cycle starts.

After 310 days, I have been officially crowned a Genius. It has been a magnificent journey with amazing people. The ultimate experience. I start in my new role from Tuesday morning. I look forward to many more years of success with this company. I would like to thank all who have been involved.
