Hawaii – April 2012

Wow. After nearly five years of waiting, my dream to visit Bora Bora is real. April 2012 will see Kristy, Brad and myself sail there on Radiance of the Seas, a 293m super liner owned by Royal Caribbean.

Brisbane City – Flood Photos

Yesterday I went for a drive around Brisbane City. Below are a few photos I took. Again, I urge everyone to donate a small amount to help our fellow Queenslanders.

Please Donate

Tens of thousands of people have now been affected in Queensland due to floods. The nation has come together to donate in excess of $32 million. This is not enough. Billions of dollars is needed to help people get back on their feet. Please give whatever you can afford. Aussies, please come together.

Donate.

Why we love Queensland – 15th-16th December 2010 Storms

Over the past few days, after nearly three weeks of rain, we got hit by some crazy storms in South East Queensland (Brisbane and the Gold Coast). Many people went into darkness as thousands of home's electricity was cut. Flooded homes, cars and businesses littered the urban landscape. Hail the size of cricket balls pounded the earth as people fled. Just a small pick of photos below.

Arlecchino Hotel – Venice

Arlecchino Hotel will be our home for one night prior to our Mediterranean cruise. We found this on Expedia.com.au for only $89. Who says you can't get a cheap room in Venice? Our room overlooks the lovely canals and is only 200m to the cruise terminal.

Mediterranean Cruise Plans; Re-planned

Well after a lovely email from my travel agent (not her fault), our Mediterranean cruise plan has changed. You see, MSC has decided that the week we were going to sail on MSC Armonia (April 1 to April 8, 2011) has been cancelled due to the ship going into dry dock. Just like that. Our Europe holiday had changed.

The folks at MSC were good enough to offer us three options.

- A full refund, no harm feelings.

- Move to another cruise of the same length without charge. Mmm, ok. We are only in Europe for three weeks.

- Sail from the same port on the same day as the Armonia would have, but for 8 nights on MSC Magnifica, no extra charge. Really?

The deal has been made. We are now sailing from Venice on April Fools day from Venice on the MSC Magnifica for eight nights. Our itinerary has now also changed. See below.

Our Trip: 2011

Wow! It has taken us years, but we have finally booked our dream trip to Europe and England.

Our travels will take us via Brunei to London, and then onto Venice where we will spend a few nights before we embark on a Medateranian cruise aboard the MSC Armonia.

After the eight day cruise, a train will take us from Venice into heart of Paris. We will spend 3 days in Paris then travel on the EuroStar to Ebbsfleet (an international station outside of London, in Kent), to meet with Stephen and Marion.

London - eight days. Not possible. We will try and cram in as much as possible, using our trusty London Pass to allow us VIP entry into many attractions without waiting. Only time will tell how that will go. Be sure to be listening in during April 2011 for live photos and updates of our progress.

Phew! What a trip; we can't wait.
